BENTON -- Donna H. Towers, 67, died July 10, 2013, at Maine Medical Center in Portland with her family by her side. She was born on Jan. 11, 1946, in Portland, the daughter of Arthur J. and Gloria H. (Lajoie) Dumont.
She attended St. Augustine School, Williams Elementary School, and Cony High School. On Jan. 28, 1999, she married Archie Towers in Corinna. Over the years she worked at various restaurants as an exceptional waitress in Maine and Arizona. She was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Amvets of Augusta. Donna enjoyed knitting, reading, card games, restoring furniture, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Archie Towers, of Benton; mother Gloria Helene Dumont, of Clinton; daughter Joline Drew, of Orland; two sons, Frank Johnson, of North Vassalboro, and John French, of Vassalboro; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three stepsons, Brad Towers, of New Hampshire, Chris Towers, of Jay, and Adam Towers, of Lisbon; a sister, Susan Bennett; six brothers, Thomas Dumont, Daniel Dumont, Anthony Dumont, Peter Dumont, Russell Dumont and Michael Dumont, all of Maine; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held July 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Leighton Road, Augusta. A family gathering will follow the graveside service at the Parsonage House, 266 Dunham Road, Vassalboro, promptly from 2 to 4 p.m.
A celebration of life, in Donna's fashion, will be held for all family and friends starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, potluck and cookout style. Casual dress for optimum enjoyment at 576 Acadia highway, Orland.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in Donna's memory to her husband, Archie Towers, 1556 Benton Ave., Benton, ME 04901.
