VASSALBORO -- Alexandria Rae "Allie" Ferland, 16, passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.
Allie was born in Waterville on Nov. 29, 1995, to parents Nathan R. Ferland and Illka M. Lorentsen.
Allie was a junior at Winslow High School this year after transferring from Lawrence High School.
Allie was a free spirit, fearless and strong; she loved the color pink and believed a Dunkin' Donuts French vanilla ice coffee could solve any of life's problems. If Allie ever found herself in a hard spot, she would lose herself in a good song or a good book, which helped her get through anything. She was real and was never afraid to tell you exactly how she felt, exactly when she felt it. She was a wild child and a handful; she fought for what she believed in and for the people that she cared about. No matter what it came down to, she loved the people that she left behind with all her of heart, and she would have done anything for them. Allie loved laughing and being around her friends and family; those were the things that brought her true joy.
Allie was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Bradford Smith.
She is survived by her loving parents father, Nathan Ferland, of Burnham, mother, Illka Lorentsen, of Vassalboro; her two sisters, Jenna Lorentsen, of Texas, and Katie Dostie, of Waterville; her brother Colby Ferland, of Texas; paternal grandparents, Edgar and Patricia Ferland, of Waterville; maternal grandmother, Josephine Rosner, of Canada; aunts and uncles: Valerie Lorentsen, of Brunswick, Keith Lorentsen, of North Yarmouth, Brad Smith and companion, Lisa Lincoln, of New York, and Anthony Lorentsen, of Massachusetts, Charlotte Socha and husband, Donald, of New York, and Amanda Lucas and husband, Whitney, of Raymond; and her great aunt, Brenda Douglas, of Waterville; as well as her cousins and many special friends. Allie also leaves behind her beloved dog Apollo and her fish Princess.
