FARMINGTON -- Helen A. Bransky, 96, of Vienna, passed away at Sandy River Center for Healthcare in Farmington on Friday, July 20, 2012. She was born Feb. 19, 1916 in Minneaplois, Minn., the daughter of Edward P. and Olga (Staehle) Lindner. She was educated in the schools of Minneapolis before attending beautician school. She worked as a beautician in the Minneapolis area before meeting her husband, Walter, and moving to Chicago.
In the early 1950s, the family, with their two sons, moved to Riverdale, Ill., where they bought a home. Helen ran a beauty salon in her home for more than 20 years.
When they retired, she and Walter, the love of her life, sold everything to buy a travel trailer and toured the United States for four years. At the end of their travels, they settled in Florida. Walter passed 11 years ago and Helen moved to Farmington in 2004 to be near her son, Mick, and his wife, Betsy. She enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts, reading, and traveling.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Malcolm "Mick" Bransky, and his wife, Betsy Worden, of Vienna, and Jeffrey Bransky, of Chicago, Il.; four grandchildren, Barbara, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Katie; five great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Vi. She was predeceased by her husband and her brother, Adolf "Duffy" Lindner.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Interment will take place in Florida.
