WEST FORKS -- Wayne R. Cray, 60, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Somerset Rehabilitation & Living Center in Bingham.
He was born Feb. 17, 1950, in Portland, the son of Roland Raymond and Geraldine Ann (Rines) Cray. Wayne attended school in Freeport, graduating from Freeport High School with the class of 1968.
On June 29, 1997, Wayne married Christine Alden in Bowdoin. He was employed by Cianbro Construction Company for 34 years, working as a carpenter foreman on bridge construction projects.
Wayne and Christine moved to the West Forks in 2007. As an avid outdoor person, he had been coming to the West Forks area for many years where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. Wayne especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He had helped various people in the area renovate their camps.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Alden) Cray of the West Forks; a daughter, Kim Snyder and her husband, Jason, of Yarmouth; a grandson, Bryce Snyder of Yarmouth; his mother, Geraldine Cray of Brunswick; a stepson, Robert Smith of Bowdoin; three sisters, Ginnie DesRosiers and her husband, Gerald, of East Corinth, Shirley Carter of Pownal, and Linda Estabrook and her husband, Wayne, of Bowdoinham; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Sadie.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Wayne's home, 3562 U.S. Route 201 in the West Forks.
Cremation arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., Bingham.
