SKOWHEGAN -- Priscilla (Dionne) Bilodeau, 83, of Skowhegan, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of Levite and Theresa (Violette) Dionne, Priscilla was born on the family farm during an Easter Sunday blizzard on April 12, 1925. She attended Skowhegan area schools and graduated from Maine State Normal School in Farmington in 1945 and received her bachelor's degree in education from the Farmington State Teacher's College in 1951.
Priscilla was married to Wallace Bilodeau on Aug. 18, 1952, the first couple to be married by Father Lucien H. Chabot in the newly constructed Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan. Priscilla was a member of the church choir for many years and remained an active member of the Daughters of Isabella for 57 years. She was an English teacher in School Administrative District 54 and remained active in the Somerset County Retired Teacher's Association. Priscilla was an avid reader and was involved with the Skowhegan Free Public Library for many years. She loved baking, playing the piano, and doing crossword puzzles.
Priscilla was the devoted mother of five children, John Bilodeau and his wife, Juline and daughter, Ann Gamage, all of Skowhegan; Mary Callan and her husband, Richard of Belgrade; Paul Bilodeau of Palm Bay, Fla.; and Peter Bilodeau and his companion, Doug Brotzman of Corbett, Ore. She was the loving grandmother, "Grammie," of Ambre and Brett Bilodeau, Adria Callan, Olivia and Maria Gamage; and great-grandmother of Kimberley Landry and Mark Oliveira. She is also survived by her brothers, Roland Dionne and his wife, Lillian and Rudolphe Dionne and his wife, Bernice; sisters Genevieve Fortier and her husband, Horace and Verna Lister and her husband, Bill; a special brother in-law, Richard Getchell; and sisters-in law Dorothy Whittemore, Juliette Faron, and Dorothy Moran.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Wallace; her sister, Joan Getchell and grandson, Nicholas Barrett Gamage.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Skowhegan, with Father Maurice Morin officiating.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the special care and respect Priscilla received at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital and to Betty Vining for her many years of devotion and support.
