SOUTH CHINA -- William E. Moore, 73, of South China and formerly of Saugus, Mass., died Friday evening, Aug. 3, 2012, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Campus, Waterville, with his family at his side. He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on November 12, 1938, a son of Joseph W. and Mildred (Earle) Moore.
William was a resident of Saugus, Mass., for more than 40 years. He served as a customer service representative for Eastern Airlines for over 30 years.
William was a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 60 of Saugus. He enjoyed making floral arrangements and doing woodworking. William moved to South China in 2007, where he attended the South China Community Church.
He is predeceased by his parents; a sister, Alice Moore Eagle; and her husband, Jack Eagle.
William is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Donaldson) Moore, of South China; a son, Todd W. Moore, of Reading, Mass.; a daughter, Karen L. (Moore) Franco and her husband, Roger D. Franco; two granddaughters, Amanda L. Franco and Brianna D. Franco, of Raymond, N.H.; niece Jacqueline L. (Eagle) Daugherty and husband David, of Katy, Texas; nephew William J. Eagle of Washington, D.C.; and cousins in Massachusetts and Newfoundland.
Visiting hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street, Waterville. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, Mass., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Mass.
