WINSLOW -- Terry George Leavitt, 49, of Winslow died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at MaineGeneral with family by his side.
He was born in Waterville, July 6, 1963, the youngest son of George and Mariette (Paquette) Leavitt.
Terry was educated in the Winslow school system and graduated in 1983. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman, gardener and artist.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie, in 1963, and his father, George, in 2007.
Terry is survived by his three siblings, Marcella Wood of Belgrade, Jim Leavitt of Winslow, Lee Ann LaFountain and her husband David of Winslow. He will always be "Uncle Joe" to his eight nieces and nephews, Jenni Gombos and her husband Bill, Kevin Wood and his wife Kim, Carrie Stott and her husband Jed, Jonathan Wood, Travis and Matthew Leavitt, Marie Brace and husband Corbin, Bethany Fisher and husband Chris; along with many great nieces and nephews.
At Terry's request there will be no visiting hours. Services will be held privately for the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his doctor, Linda Keniston, to the nursing staff of HealthReach HomeCare & Hospice, as well as the staff of Elder Independence of Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry's memory to Meals on Wheels, Muskie Center, Waterville, Maine 04901.
