WINDSOR -- Stephen A. Mihovan, 89, passed away on Aug. 10, 2012, at the VA Maine Healthcare System at Togus.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1923, in Everett, Mass., a son of the late George and Annie Mihovan.

Steve was a graduate of Everett High School and served four years in the Navy near the end of World War II.

He met his beloved future wife, Norene Ward, in Boston, where they married on Valentine's Day, 1946. They spent the early years of marriage in Vero Beach, Fla., until Steve was honorably discharged.

They moved to Bingham, where their three daughters were born and raised. The family enjoyed many wonderful summers at their camp (which Steve built with the help of family and friends) on Pleasant Pond. Here Steve was able to enjoy his love of water and boating.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Norene, and brothers George and Victor.

He is survived by his three daughters, Jill (Rich), Holly (Alec) and Laurie (Russ); four grandchidlren, Josh, Allison, Garrett and Dylan; four great-grandchildren, Gail, Megan, Trevor and Derek; brothers Walter and Sylvester; and sisters Mary and Pauline.

A private family service will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Gardiner.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's name may be given to your favorite nonprofit organization.
