PALM COAST, Fla. -- Rachel A. Labbe LeBrun, 58, passed away Aug. 11, 2012, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, with her oldest daughter and husband holding her hands at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 27, 1953, in Waterville, Maine, a daughter of Leonard and Colleen Dyer Labbe of Fairfield, Maine.

Rachel graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, class of 1972, and Kennebec Valley Technical College as a registered nurse in 1989.

She worked at Mid-Maine Medical Center more than 28 years as a CCU/ICU nurse. She later moved to Florida and worked at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills for four years and Florida Hospital Flagler for four years as an ICU nurse.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard LeBrun, and daughter Heather Clausen and Brian, all of Florida; her daughter, Jennelle McKinney and Alex of Minnesota; three sisters, Debi Hitchcock, of Fairfield, Maine, Sandy Gilbert, of Palmer, Alaska, and Brenda and Donnie West, of Skowhegan, Maine; and one brother, Noel and Suzette Labbe, of Bradford, Maine; six grandchildren: Amina, Aliya, Zakariya and Nura McKinney, and Angel and Brianna Clausen; and many nieces and nephews, Chad and Donna Lewis, Joel and Denise Lewis, Ryan and Karyn Lewis, Brian and Meagan Littlefield, Darcey Geldermann, Michael and Samantha Gilbert, Stacie and Pat Jamo, Brendon West, Chris Labbe, and Nicole and Jay Allen; and aunts Stella Labbe and Genieve Shirley, both of Waterville.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, David; grandchildren Tommy and Julie Clausen; her grandparents, Levi and Irene Dyer, and Philias and Florida Labbe; and her stepfather, Bill Morris.

Rachel was a very beautiful loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and nurse. She will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

Family and friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach, Fla., and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. There will be a memorial gathering held in Maine at a later date.
