WINSLOW -- Pauline Marie Simpson, 77, of Winslow, died on Feb. 9, 2013. She was born in Winslow to the late Joseph and Alice (Loubier) Baron.
Pauline was educated in local schools graduating from Winslow High School in the class of 1953.
She worked at Keyes Fiber and also worked at LaVerdiere's Drug Store in her later years. Pauline enjoyed traveling and visiting the Maine coast, especially the Belfast region, with her sisters for many summers. She always followed the Boston Red Sox and Bruins, never missing a televised game. In Pauline's younger years she would play cards with many of her friends and would stop by the Veterans of Foreign Wars to play beano with some of her other colleagues. Pauline always deeply loved her grandchildren and was fond of Lynne's cats, Hunny Mae, P. Diddy and Tedman.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gerald, of Winslow; daughter Lynne Melanson and husband, Matt, of Waterville; sons Joe Simpson and wife, Tammy, of Belgrade, and Pete Simpson and wife, Shelly, of Belgrade. She also leaves behind her twin sister, Pearl Esty; sisters Jeanne Dostie and Van Pollackov; grandchildren Ashley, Susan, Cody and Tyler; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A committal service will be at noon Friday, Feb. 15, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. Services are under the care and direction of the Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville; www.veilleuxfuneralhome.com.
