WINSLOW -- Lucille M. (Gullifer) Grenier, 96, passed away peacefully at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville on Friday, July 13, 2012. after a brief illness.Lucille was born in Waterville, Feb. 12, 1916, the daughter of Wallace and Susie (Bickford) Gullifer.
She was educated in the Waterville school system. Lucille worked for C.F. Hathaway Co. for 23 years. She was also a commissioner for the Waterville Housing Authority for 22 years. For the past three and a half years, she lived in Winslow with her daughter, Diane, and grandson Jason who cared for her. Lucille was a loving person who was always willing to help others and who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was also an avid NASCAR fan, loved to knit and do puzzles.
She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband. Leo; and her siblings, Merton, Joseph, Clarence, Grace, Irene, Beverly and Lloyd.
She is survived by one sister, Leota, and her husband, Bruce Leavitt, of Florida; her son, Reginald, and wife Pauline, of Albion, and grandchildren Robin and husband Franklin Henderson, of Berwick, Reginald and wife Wanda, of Waterville, Stephen and wife Brandy, of South Carolina, and Michael and wife Katie, of Fairfield; her son, Edmund, and wife Betty, of Waterville, and grandchildren Timothy, of Oakland, and Ginger and husband Kevin Bachelor, of Wisconsin; and her daughter, Diane, and grandson Jason, of Winslow; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
By her requests there will be no hours of visitation. After cremation, a graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012, in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Waterville Area, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, ME 04901.
