HARLAND -- Judith Gallerani, 53, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, in Pittsfield, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Gallerani, of Hartland; five children, Nicole, Brian, Carol, Holly and Christopher; grandchildren Angelina, Desiray, Jonas, Kalon and Henry; her mother, Margaret Mullen; siblings Ann Materna and husband Col. Bob, Glen Justice and wife Alison, Paul Justice, Carol Justice, Johanna Justice and Michael Justice, all of Massachusetts.
She was predeceased by her father, Clyde Justice; and three brothers, James, Charles and Peter.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1959, in Plymouth, Mass., the daughter of Clyde and Margaret (Mullen) Justice. She graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Pembroke, Mass. and married Charles Gallerani in 1979.
In Massachusetts, Judy worked for Mutual Federal Savings Bank and the Foxboro Co. Most recently she was employed in the deli department at Bud's Shop and Save in Newport. She served her community as a leader in the Girl Scout Troop 48 in Hartland and also as a substitute teacher for SAD 19. Her most rewarding position was being a mother and homemaker to her five children.
Judy was a strong woman. She was known to be patient, understanding and always forgiving. She was the best advocate for her family, always sacrificing for her children and grandchildren. Her memory will be lovingly cherished.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m., at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, in Pittsfield, with the Rev. Father Murray officiating. A committal service will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 152, in Hartland.
