BRIGHTON -- Joseph "Jonny" Pelletier, died Aug. 24, 2012, at Bangor's Eastern Maine Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Lincoln, the son of Joseph and Rose Pelletier.

Joe joined the Marines at age 17 and served in Vietnam, where he was wounded in combat.

Upon returning home, he became a skilled arborist and spent much of his life in this career.

A rebel at heart, Joe lived a full life. He was a simple man who was fiercely independent. Joe always gave all that he could to those he loved.

Joe leaves behind eight siblings, including his beloved sister, Bernadette; and three grandchildren: Denika, Michaela and Joel. He will be missed evey day by his four daughters, Bernadette, Jill, Meranda and Rebekah.

"In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die. Where you invest your love, you invest your life."

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
