FAIRFIELD -- Heather Flewelling, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the Gorham House in Gorham. She was born in Fairfield on Dec. 19, 1924, the daughter of J. Ernest and Josephine (Quirion) Boucher.
She was educated in Fairfield schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Heather was a women of strong faith and very active in church related groups including St. Mark's Episcopal Church and Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She was also deeply involved with family and treasured her friendship with friends. Heather was an example of a true and spiritual character and loved to sing to music and study the arts. Her children took after her in explaining their value of faith and spirituality to others.
She was predeceased by her first husband, James Carroll Blunt and her second husband, Carroll Dean Flewelling and her two brothers, J. Alfred Boucher and J. Armand Boucher.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Carol Kavanaugh, of Winslow and Mary Angela (Blunt) Emerson, of Gorham; four grandchildren, Alyssa Heather (Kavanaugh) Planeta and her husband, Nicholas, of Cambridge, Mass., and Samuel David Emerson, William Paul Emerson and Kiera Hoi Emerson, all of Gorham.
A funeral service will be noon Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville, with the Deacon in charge of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, the Rev. Mr. Edwin Kalish. Burial will be in the springtime.
