WATERVILLE -- Gary Lee Gleason passed away at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, after his illness with cancer. Gary was born at Edwards Air Force Base in California, the son of Sherwood Gleason Sr. and Doris Bennett. Gary worked at Scott Paper until leaving because of illness. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, his mother, children, grandchildren and all other family members and his friends. He is survived by his mother, Doris Bennett; sister Barbra Farrin; his three children, Jamie Gleason, and wife Toni, of Massachusetts, Jennifer Gleason, of Waterville, and Glenn Rich, of Waterville; and his six grandchildren, Zachary Gleason, Ethan and Colin Bouchard, Lily Gleason, Payton Rich and Olivia Zalios. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Edith Gleason; grandmother Irene Thompson; his father, Sherwood Gleason Sr.; and his brother, Sherwood Gleason Jr.
The family would like to thank the staff at Alfond Center for Cancer Care and his wonderful Hospice nurse Michelle and the staff at HealthReach.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 4, 2012, at the Lighthouse Ministry Center on High Street in Oakland. You can visit the online guestbook to sign and share your memories of Gary.
