MADISON -- Eleanor Annie Hayden, 95, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born July 30, 1917, in Cornville, the youngest child of Delbert William and Ina Bell (Wormlight) Kelly. She was educated in Cornville schools. On March 9, 1935, Eleanor was married to Fred Herbert Hayden. Following their marriage she and her husband lived in Madison.
Eleanor worked at Medwed Footwear in Skowhegan for about 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred H. Hayden Sr.; two daughters, Florence Eleanor Hayden and Barbara Ann Hayden; a granddaughter, Holly Hayden; and her siblings Sylvanus and Kenneth Kelly, Pauline Stone and Elizabeth Wills.
She is survived by four children, Fred Herbert Hayden Jr., of San Francisco, Calif., Irene Ina Fowler and her husband, Robert Sr., of Madison, Delbert Daniel Hayden Sr., and his wife, Rose Marie Hayden, of Madison, and David Charles Hayden, of Skowhegan; nine grandchildren, Robert Jr., Keith, Delbert Jr., Darlene, Dawn, Debra, Danielle, Diane and Heather; and numerous great- grandchildren.
Eleanor's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison and the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan for the wonderful care she received while at their facilities.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., in Madison, with pastor Tobin Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
