WESTBROOK -- Doris E. Wight, 74, of Carol Street, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013. She was born in Anson on April 1, 1938, a daughter of Robert and Irene Clark Edgerly.
Doris was educated in Madison schools and attended Husson College in Bangor.
She married Richard Wight in 1958 and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage having first met in first grade. They moved to Westbrook and Doris spent 30 years working for Maine National Bank and then at S.D. Warren for 13 years. Together they raised six boys.
Doris was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Rebekahs and a member of Pride's Corner Congregational Church.
Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, crafts and baking. Doris will be remembered for her Christmas Eve parties with her famous homemade meatballs. She adored her grandchildren and was a mother to all.
Doris was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert Edgerly.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; sons: Dan, Bill, Jim, Don, Dennis and Tom; brothers: Earl and Richard Edgerly and a sister, Pat Morton; and seven grandchildren.
An hour of visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. A funeral service will follow at the chapel at 11 a.m. Spring burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison.
