WATERVILLE -- David J. Dostie, 83, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit, Waterville.He was born in Waterville on March 26, 1929, the son of Harvey and Bertha (Rancourt) Dostie.
He was educated in Waterville schools and worked for a number of years at Scott Paper.
David had many interests and hobbies, including hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and was a avid sports fan.
David is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Terris) Dostie, of Waterville; daughter, Peggy Pooler and husband Roy of Waterville; two granddaughters, Donna Pooler, of Waterville, and Debra Joliceour and husband Jeff, of Waterville; grandson Roy Pooler Jr. of Waterville; two great-grandsons, David Pooler and his wife, Jennie, of Waterville, and Derek Joliceour of Waterville; great-granddaughter Danielle Joliceour of Waterville; great-great-grandchildren, Mariah McFarland, Madison Hinerman, and Whitney Pooler, all of Waterville; three brothers, Ricky Dostie of Sidney, Vincent Dostie of Fairfied and William Dostie of Waterville; three sisters, Maureen Champagne of Fairfield, Zilda Champagne of Waterville and Pauline Bartlette of Fairfield.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Harvey and Violet (Rancourt) Dostie.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the First Baptist Church, 1 Park St., Waterville, ME 04901.
