ST. ALBANS -- Charlotte F. Phillips, 93, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Sanfield Rehab & Living Center in Hartland following a long illness. She was born in Boston on March 23, 1919, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Bruerton) Goforth. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Weymouth, Mass., in the class of 1936.
Charlotte was married to Reginald J. Phillips, who predeceased her in 1982.
Charlotte was the office manager of the personnel department at Northeast Shoe in Pittsfield for many years, retiring in 1981. She also had worked at other local shoe shops.
Charlotte loved to play golf and continued to play until her health prevented her from playing any longer. She was an avid bingo player and loved cooking for her grandson.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Deborah Berce of Pittsfield; one brother, George Goforth of Scarborough; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Reginald; her daughter Rebecca Phillips, who died in January of 2012; eight brothers and sisters: Gertrude, Marjorie, Henrietta, Robert Jr., Emily, Barbara, James and Vincent.
She will also be remembered by special friends Barbara Day and "Care Bear."
Graveside services for Charlotte will be held in the spring at the St. Albans Village Cemetery at a date and time to be announced.
