FAIRFIELD -- Arthur H. Bickford, 64, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Waterville on June 21, 1948, the son of the late Daniel H. and Christine I. (Clement) Bickford. He was a graduate of Lawrence High School in Fairfield.
In his early years, he was employed by Keyes Fibre Co. in Shawmut. Later, he was a self-employed cattle and horse dealer. He enjoyed going to cattle auctions.
He is survived by his three sons, Robert Stockford of Smithfield, Daniel Bickford of Clinton and Dusty Corson of Solon; his siblings, Allen and Alden Bickford of Fairfield, Eugene and his wife, Vera, of Fairfield, Debra Wentworth and her husband, Bruce, of China, and Joanne Fuller and her husband, Roland, of Fairfield; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 16, from 5-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, with Pastor Steve Donahue officiating.
