FITCHBURG, Mass., and WATERVILLE -- Anne Swears, of Fitchburg, Mass., and Waterville, passed away Sunday, March 17, at home in Fitchburg with her daughters, Mary Lou Tweedie and Linda Swears.
Anne was born in Waterville in 1934, and lived there until she moved in with her daughters in 2008.
Anne was diagnosed with late stage dementia in early 2011.
Besides her daughters, she is survived by her brother, Arthur Genest, of Oakland; and her four sisters, Marie Turner, of Meriden, Conn., Priscilla Drapeau, of Winslow, Barbara Hoffman, of Ringwood, Ill., and Gloria Hoffman, of Buffalo Grove, Ill.
Anne enjoyed music, especially singing in the car, the beaches of Maine, Foxwoods and spending time with her family. She was a kind, gentle soul who appreciated everyone and everything.
There will be a celebration of Anne's life from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at JR's Pub, 14 North St., Fitchburg. Please join us as we share fond memories with good friends.
