Andrew G. Siket passed away on Aug. 2, 2010, in Florida. He was born June 15, 1949, in Bangor, Maine. He was the son of Andrew Siket and Lois Daisy Coombs. He graduated from the University of Maine in Bangor, St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, and the University of Maine School Of Law. He was an accomplished attorney admitted to practice in Maine, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado and Tennessee, as well as before the United States Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeal for the 1st and 11th Circuits, and District Courts for the Districts of Maine, Colorado, Middle District of Florida, and Southern District of Florida.
He was a man who knew something about almost everything and it was often commented by those who knew him on what a great mind he had. He enjoyed reading, fishing and the outdoors and he loved football and sports. He was generous and concerned for the environment, as demonstrated by the fact that he supported many environmental organizations. He was a gift to this world and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He leaves behind his wife, Sheryl, of 26 years; a daughter, Allison Weeks, and her husband, Randy; a sister, Ellen Rice, and her husband, Bill; a brother, Steve Siket and his wife, Sylvia; a nephew, Matt Siket, and his wife, Meghan, and their daughter Avery; a niece, Katie Rice, and her daughter, Paige; two granddaughters, Taylor McIntyre and Linsey Alexander; and one step grandson, Caleb Weeks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved nephew, Dan Rice.
There will be a celebration of his life for his Maine friends and family at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Eustis Parkway in Waterville Maine, on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m.
