WAYLAND, Mass. -- Stephen Malieswski, 49, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family at his residence on Sunday, July 28, 2013, following a courageous battle with ALS.
He was born in Somerville, Mass.,on June 22, 1964, the son of the late John F. Malieswski Sr. and Anna Schwarzof Wayland, Mass.
Besides his mother, Anna, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Sa, and her husband, Mayckel Sa, both of Holliston, Mass. He was the brother of Susan J. Quirk and her husband, Daniel W. Quirk, both of Dracut, Mass., and John F. Malieswski Jr., of Wayland. He was the uncle of John M. Malieswski, of Wayland, and Alyssa M. Quirk and Alexis E. Quirk, both of Dracut. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Mary M. Brewer, of Wayland; and many friends.
Stephen spent most of his life in Wayland, and also resided in Maine for several years. He was a graduate of Wayland High School with the class of 1983. While residing in Maine, he worked at Sugarloaf Mountain. He was associated for many years as a custodian for the town of Dover, Mass., at the Dover-Sherborn High School and at the Chickering Elementary School before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating and riding his Harley-Davidson. Most of all, Stephen loved being outdoors with family and friends. He touched the lives of many people and always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone.
He will be fondly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Memorial visitations will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Route 30), Wayland.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road (Route 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Schwarz family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
