VASSALBORO - Tim "Timmy" Pooler, 54, of Vassalboro, went to our Lord Jesus Christ, early Sunday morning, Nov. 24, after a long courageous battle from cancer. In death he was at home surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was born Jan. 17, 1959, in Waterville, the second son of Clifford Sr., and Joan (Trahan) Pooler. Tim attended Vassalboro elementary schools and Waterville High School.
In his early years he worked along with his siblings at the family poultry farm in Winslow and later Vassalboro. Tim was a hard worker and his work ethics earned him recognition though out his life. He also worked for Massey Lumber in Vassalboro, Sheridan Corp. in Fairfield, and Duratherm Window Corp, in Vassalboro, where he worked until his retirement because of illness. While at Duratherm, Tim was considered to be a master window and door specialist. He often traveled throughout the United States to install company Made-in-Maine products in homes and businesses.
In sickness, Tim never complained how he felt and his enduring will to beat cancer was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a fighter, always expecting to live on even during his darkest moments. He often remarked that he was not ready to "go just yet" and was often seen wearing his favorite "Cancer Sucks" T-shirt.
Tim was a free spirit and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine. He loved working hard, riding motorcycles, working on cars and meeting women. On Friday nights he enjoyed going to the Waterville VFW to share a cocktail with friends. During his illness he could be found sitting on his favorite couch watching television tuned in to soap operas, reality shows and other programs such as "Pawn Stars," "American Pickers" and "Storage Wars."
He was predeceased in death by his parents and sister Christie Pooler. Tim is survived by his six sisters and their spouses; Diane Rioux and husband Dwayne, of Winslow; Terry Schmidt and husband Fred, of Thorndike; Tina Lagasse and husband Robert, of Vassalboro; Patty Suga and husband Dana, of Vassalboro; Kim Pooler, of Vassalboro; and Missy Pooler, also of Vassalboro. Tim is also survived by his three brothers, Tony Pooler and partner Patty Ferran, of Vassalboro; Kevin Pooler, of Albion; and Clifford Jr., "Didin" Pooler and life partner Colleen Leathers, of Vassalboro. Tim is also survived by his ex-wife and dear friend Kim Clukey, of Waterville. He was especially close to his sister Kim's children, Tamara (Pooler) Willette, and Dylan and Tyler Pooler. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tim was also blessed with a devoted cousin, Kris Waldron and wife Bobbie, of Winslow. He will also be missed by lifelong and caring friends, Louie and Kathy Bourgeois and family, of Winslow.
Tim also was cherished his special friends including: Jean Poulin, of Clinton; John Poulin, of Waterville; Brian and Brenda Hutchinson, of Vassalboro; Alex Perkins, of East Vassalboro; Mike Madore, of Vassalboro; and Max Pass, of Vassalboro.
During his darkest hour Tim was re-introduced to the Lord through his special "Sister-in-Christ," Becky Gilbert, of Vassalboro.
