PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Oda Joseph Caron, 80, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Merrimack, N.H., passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1932, in Howland, son of the late Alphonse and Eugene (Dumis) Caron.
Oda served as a sergeant in the Marines during the Korean War. He was also the former owner and operator of Caron & Sons Convenience Store in Merrimack.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Lawrence, James and Gerald Caron, and five sisters, Nora Paradise, Natalie Taylor, Evelyn Roy, Louise Howard and Hilda Dunton.
Oda is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lorraine (Levesque); three sons, Dwight and his wife Kathryn, Craig and his wife Karen, and Randy and Danielle; a daughter, Linda, and her husband, Dale Tiller; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Florida Cancer Center and the Lake Geneva Hospice Care in Port Orange, Fla., for all their assistance over the last 7 months.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26. A committal service will be held in the chapel of the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen at 1 p.m.
