NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - Leo Maheu, 58, of North Andover, died Monday at his residence.
Leo was born in Waterville, Maine, on June 3, 1955, to Alfred and Gloria (Nardi) Maheu.
He was a graduate of Waterville High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Bowdoin College, his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, as well as his MBA from Northeastern University.
Leo was a self-employed consultant in the pharmaceutical industry.
He was a talented drummer and was passionate about music, jazz in particular.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Rubin) Maheu, of North Andover; his mother, Gloria Maheu, of Waterville, Maine; and his sister Maria MacKellar and her husband Duncan, of Topsham, Maine. Also among his survivors are his brother-in-law Robert Rubin and his wife, Arthena, of Salem, Mass.; and his sister-in-law, Noreen Harmon and her husband, Jamie, of Easton, Mass. Leo is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Andy MacKellar, Christina MacKellar, Brent Rubin, Courtney Harmon and Elyse Harmon, in addition to his loving aunt, Rita LaMarre as well as numerous cousins.
A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, also in North Andover.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Conte Funeral Home 17 Third St., North Andover.
