HARMONY - Emma H. Huff, 90, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, with her son, Ronald, by her side, at Dexter Health Care in Dexter.
She was born on March 18, 1923, in Augusta, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Hilda (Laflin) Rowe. She attended Harmony High School and married James Huff on July 4, 1942. She was employed at the Harmony Elementary School where she served as a cook for 29 years.
Emma enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with her friends and making ceramics. She assisted at the Wild Goose Camp for Boys in Harmony for 36 years. She was a member of American Legion Athens Post 192 and Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary 3198 in Skowhegan.
She is survived by her sons, Ronald Huff, of Harmony, and Stanley Huff, of St. Albans; her brother, Virgil Dore, of E. Stroudsburg, Penn.; her grandchildren, Angela Fortier and her husband, Abraham, Jenny Huff and Nyla Huff; great-grandchildren, Anna, Elijah and Elizabeth; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Huff; and her siblings, John Rowe, Jim Rowe, Linwood Dore and Charlene Cooley.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Main Stream Cemetery in Harmony.
