Craig Alan Carey, of Waterville, died peacefully at home on July 2, 2014, following a long illness. Craig was born in Waterville on May 6, 1964, the son of Maurice "Moe" Carey and Nancy Clement Carey. He had one daughter, Harley, of Connecticut. Craig attended Waterville and Augusta schools. He was employed as a cook, HVAC worker and landscaper.
He loved life, his family, his cats, motorcycles, lobster, ocean, rides in Dad's Roadster, fishing, darts and happy hour somewhere.
Craig was predeceased by his mother; his sister, Lisa Ann Carey Perry; grandmother Irene Clement; grandmother Marguerite "Meg" Carlo; aunt Alice B. Hartwell; and aunt Gina Carlo.
Craig is survived by his father, Maurice "Moe" Carey and his partner, Ruth M. Rancourt, of Waterville; his partner, Linda Beaulieu, of Waterville; his brother-in-law, Dan Perry, and daughter Alex, of Malden, Mass.; cousin Alice L. Hartwell, of Los Angeles, Calif.; his aunt, Sandra Sanders and husband Ken, and children Kim, Tammy and Randy; his aunt, Carole Ann Johnston and son Ryan, of Clinton; uncle Charles Carlo, of Trinity, Texas; uncle Everett "Rhett" Carlo and wife Katie, and daughters Hannah and Rachel, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; cousin Claude Fournel, of Paris, France, his daughter, Kim, of Paris, France; cousin Sandra Perrine and husband Don, of Benton, and children Teri Beaulieu, Kelly Hill, Shelby Nelson, Dan and Michelle Beaulieu, and James Perrine; uncle Gary Clement, of Norridgewock; and a cousin, Wendell Clement, of Winslow.
A celebration of Craig's life for members and family guests will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Waterville Veterans of Foreign Wars on Water Street.
